Why should I join your online consumer panel?
To make your opinions count! Our research helps some of the world's largest
companies decide what you want and why. By participating in our surveys and
discussion groups, you can be sure your voice will be heard. Our projects are
fun and you will often receive cash or be entered for cash draws just for
participating.
How do I become a member?
To become a member of the panel, simply click on HERE’S MY OPINION. You will be
taken to our new member registration page. After creating your account, you will
then be directed to the member profile survey. It's that easy!
Why do I need to complete the member profile survey?
Our research clients ask us to find people who consume certain products or who
belong to a certain demographic group (for example, in a specific age group,
with a given level of education or income). The more we know about you, the
better able we are to fit you into projects
What will CRC Research do with the information collected during registration?
We only use it to invite you to participate in research studies. We will not
share your email address or any of the personal information you provide with
anyone else. For more details on how we use this information, visit our Privacy
Policy page.
What happens to the information that I provide during a survey or study?
When we conduct a study, we analyze and summarize results "in aggregate,"
meaning we group responses together based on their ‘member profiles’; we never
report results on an individual basis.
What sort of market research projects will I be contacted for?
CRC Research conducts studies that include taste tests for well-known products,
testing the latest video games, 2 hour discussion groups and 1 hour individual
interviews. Topics include travel, banking, medical conditions, food, beverage,
beer, automobiles, and services that you would like the government to provide.
We even conduct mock jury trials as a practice for the real thing!
What is the cash honorarium or incentive that I would receive? How much?
CRC Research pays cash to each qualified participant who attends a market
research session. For focus groups and one-on-one interviews, the incentive
amount can range from $50 to $100. For taste tests one can expect to receive
$25-$50, depending on the length of the study. For on-line studies, the
incentive ranges from $5 to $50, depending on the complexity and the duration of
the survey.
What time of day do focus groups happen?
Many focus groups or one-on-one interviews are scheduled for evening timeslots.
However, there are times where this is not possible so therefore day-time focus
groups will happen from time to time. Taste tests and mock jury trials often
happen on weekends.
Where do focus groups/taste tests, etc. take place?
Most focus groups and taste tests take place at a facility located in a
convenient, central location and are conducted in all major centres across
Canada. Other projects can be completed in your own home: examples are on-line
focus groups or surveys, in-home tests of products and unique projects such as
keeping a 5-day diary about a specific product or medical condition.
How often can I participate in market research studies?
CRC Research follows the standards set forth by the Marketing Research
Intelligence Association (MRIA). There are strict industry standards regarding
the frequency of participation in focus groups. For focus groups and one-one-one
interviews, we generally do not call anyone who has participated in a study in
the previous six months. The past participation restrictions for taste tests and
online surveys are more relaxed and these studies may be completed on a more
frequent basis.
Can I participate if I am not a Canadian citizen?
Yes! Our surveys and discussion groups are open to everyone regardless of
geographic location or citizenship.
Does it cost anything to join?
No, participation is completely free and voluntary. We will never charge you for
anything or try to sell you anything.
What happens if I don’t’ want to be contacted again?
Just let us know – we respect your wishes and privacy.
Can other members of my household join?
Yes, other members of your household can join as long as their email address is
different from yours. To invite your friends and relatives to join the panel,
visit our Refer A Friend page.
